Job Description
Job Summary
NAPA distributes automotive replacement parts, accessory items and service items throughout the domestic United States primarily under the NAPA brand. The Sales & Use Tax Analyst is responsible for maintaining tax exemption certificates, tax portals, and tax registrations for all entities, liaising with external tax partners and internal departments and assisting with state sales and use tax audits. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax accounting, excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Lead process to obtain and maintain Tax Exemption Certificates for all entities and relevant customers
Maintain tax portals with all jurisdictions
Liaise with outside tax partner firm(s) on assigned items
Assist with state sales and use tax audits
Coordinate with accounts payable for tax payments needed
Act as internal company contact for tax questions, for both suppliers and customer contracts
Prepare various reports for management, external and internal auditors
Analyze invoices and data for tax-related items
Qualifications
BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant subject; industry certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) preferred.
Proven work experience as a Tax Accountant, Tax Analyst or Tax Preparer preferably in a corporate environment
Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
Computer literacy (MS Excel in particular)
Excellent analytical and time management skills
Strong numeracy skills
Keen attention to detail
Strong organization and communication skills
Physical Demands / Working Environment
Must be comfortable working in a professional office setting.
