Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Channel Management provides operational support and guidance to the US Automotive business unit as it pertains to the channels through which inventory flows through the supply chain.  Specifically this leader will build and lead a team dedicated initially to formalizing and improving the way in which NAPA flows inventory through our “Direct” Channel (is not routed through a storage distribution center).  Ultimately this role will evolve to inform and execute NAPA’s supply chain of the future ensuring the most efficient flow of inventory within our network to point of sale, maximizing availability, cost, and inventory productivity.  The Director must be able to influence and communicate effectively across multiple levels of the organization, possess strong leadership traits as they lead a team, possess critical decision-making and analytical capabilities, and help resolve issues that arise in the course of business.

Summary of essential job functions

  • Ensure high service levels and in-stock for customers and business partners.
  • Define scope, provide requirements and implement processes related to optimizing NAPA’s flow of material in the “Direct” Channel
  • Demonstrate and apply expertise for inventory replenishment through multiple channels and nodes of a multi-echelon supply chain
  • Possess a strong understanding of both DC operations and store replenishment.
  • Possess a strong background in channel management and flow of products through multiple nodes of the supply chain (omni channel)
  • Expert level knowledge of replenishment theory and application (min-max, order up to level, order point, service level targets, etc.)
  • Ability to maximize inventory availability while controlling inventory productivity and turns
  • Define to-be processes and lead change management required to create a frictionless order experience for customers and business partners.
  • Analyze supply chain data to define and track orders related KPIs for improvement and make recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Partner with and communicate with functional stakeholders, peers, ad executive leaders on project budgets, timelines, and deliverables
  • Lead and build high performing teams

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or Logistics preferred.
  • Experience in B2B/B2C environment.
  • Knowledge of Google Big Query and Microsoft Power BI capabilities preferred.
  • Effectively communicates by motivating and inspiring others through clear and proactive communication.
  • Delivers results and drives customer success by committing and focusing on outcomes to deliver results and making the customer the center of decisions.
  • Make balanced decisions and thinks strategically by being a forward thinker.
  • Develops high-performing teams by providing inclusive leadership, attracting and developing world-class talent, providing ongoing feedback and building trust across the organization.

Supply Chain Optimization – 50%

  • Collaborate with Category (Merchant) leaders, Supply Chain Operations, Information Technology, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with business strategies.
  • Optimize inventory investments while meeting and exceeding service goals
  • Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to identify opportunities that improve sales, profit, turns, and working capital objectives.
  • Develop implementation and execution plans to support price changes, promotions, and seasonal events.

Supply Chain Management 25%

  • Serve as a partner and supply chain expert for Category (Merchandizing) Vice President(s), Sales Division Vice President(s), and other functional leaders
  • Full accountability for service, turn over, and working capital performance metrics

Support Supply Chain Transformation– 25%

  • Provide insight, lead projects, and provide channel management expertise for the ongoing NAPA Supply chain transformation
