Job Description
Hydraulic Supply Company (HSC), a division of Motion, is seeking a Hydraulic Engineer in West Palm Beach, Florida to support the sales groups and customers by providing technical problem solving, design, and application of fluid power systems, controls, parts, and products. Help us expand our technical capabilities to service more customers. We are looking for a motivated and talented candidate with 2 to 5 years of experience in fluid power to grow with a great team and a very successful company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design and Troubleshoot Fluid Power systems based on customer requirements.
• Design, Program, and Troubleshoot mobile and industrial control systems.
• Develop, prepare, and present technical quotes and designs.
• Analyze and make recommendations for work projects or contracts.
• Build, assemble, and wire prototype systems in shop
• Develop Operations, Maintenance, and Diagnostic manuals for fluid power systems sold.
• Participate in joint sales calls with sales representatives.
• Oversee systems installations and other start up projects or assignments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related degree required
• 2 to 5 years of fluid power experience
• Analytical problem solving skills
• Machine controls coursework is a plus
• Moderate travel required with occasional overnights.
• Familiarity with common office and CAD software applications
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Organization and planning of short and long term projects/assignments
• Handle multiple projects using independent judgement
• Ability to work independently and also collaborate with a diverse group of people
• Attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills as required
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor’s degree is required and at least two (2) to five (5) years of related experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
• Must be able to read schematics.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Good listening skills required.
• Complex problem solving skills required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Push/pull up to 50 pounds
• Lift/carry up to 50 pounds
• Working conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor.
