SUMMARY:
The Software and Vision Engineer at Motion Ai will design and develop software to support the development of machine vision algorithms and solutions for industrial 2D & 3D machine vision inspection systems. The software will be deployed to a wide range of industries utilizing an array of technologies (C, C++, C#, .NET, SQL, etc.). The Software and Vision Engineer will integrate and build supporting frameworks for use with commercial vision sensor platforms.
The Software and Vision Engineer is also responsible for defining the vision design, identifying the sensors, optics and lighting needed to solve the machine vision problems.
JOB DUTIES:
Design, build and support software applications (C, C++, C#, .NET, SQL, etc.).
Design, build and support software library interfaces to common vision tools.
Define sensors, lighting and optics for solving machine vision problems.
Mechanical and Electrical aptitude is a plus and must have potential to be developed by candidate
Ability to work on a professional team with a willingness to learn and grow with the company.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Work as a member of a design team, cooperating with management in an effective manner to perform engineering work of a high quality, with no errors.
Prepare and submit reports as required to keep management updated on project status.
Maintain and continually improve technical and professional abilities described above and required to perform assigned tasks.
Proficiency in Office 365
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience.
Experience developing software applications or machine vision systems.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
• Proficient use of CAD software and Microsoft Office suite software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong mechanical and math skills and ability to formulate ideas and create design solutions for internal and external customer needs.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Field experience is a plus
• Works as a key member of cross functional teams & must display a can-do attitude that sets an example for others.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
20% Domestic and International Travel
May require standing on concrete shop or facility floor for extended periods of time
