Job Description

Motion Motor Technicians employees provide the highest levels of service and product repair to meet the needs of our customers. Whether repairing or rewinding AC & DC electric Motors, we cater to the needs of our customers to keep their industry in motion.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Responsibilities would include:

  • Rewind of AC & DC electric motors

  • AC Motors – Must be able to perform the following

    •    Remove connection
    •    Burn out
    •    Take Data
    •    Strip
    •    Clean core
    •    Operate core loss tester
    •    Baker tester
    •    Insulate core
    •    Make coils
    •    Install coils
    •    Reconnect connection
    •    Dip & bake
    •    Rewind stators low & medium voltage
    •    Mush wound & form coil stators

  • DC Motors – Must be able to perform the following

    •    Take data
    •    Burn out
    •    Insulate armature
    •    Insulate fields
    •    Rewind fields, inner poles and armature along with testing commutator

  • Taking motor data

  • Knowledge of motor test equipment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Strong communication skills required.

  • Basic mechanical knowledge.

  • Ability to operate shop equipment safely.

  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to read hydraulic schematics.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work well with others. 

  • Strong knowledge of repair & rewind of AC & DC electric motors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED required, Technical / Vocational training preferred

  • A minimum of 5 years on AC & DC Motors.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Push/pull up to 50 pounds

  • Lift/carry up to 50 pounds

  • Lift bulky objects

  •  Working conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.

  • Standing for long periods.

  • Ability to work overtime and weekends.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Driver's License.

  • Clean driving record.
