Motion Industries is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Fluid Power Designer to join our team in Lively, Ontario. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with strong experience in hydraulic and fluid power systems design, particularly within industrial and mining applications.

SUMMARY

The Fluid Power Designer will be responsible for designing, modeling, and troubleshooting hydraulic and fluid power systems. This includes developing detailed schematics and 3D models for power units, hydraulic cylinders, and underground mining vehicles. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and customers to ensure reliable, efficient, and high-performance system designs.

JOB DUTIES

• Design and develop fluid power schematics using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
• Create detailed 3D models in Inventor for hydraulic power units, hydraulic cylinders, underground mining vehicles and related equipment
• Interpret customer requirements and translate them into functional hydraulic system designs
• Select appropriate hydraulic components (valves, pumps, motors, filtration, etc.)
• Perform system calculations and ensure compliance with industry standards
• Troubleshoot and diagnose hydraulic circuit issues
• Provide technical support to production, sales, and service teams
• Maintain accurate design documentation and revision control

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field
• Strong working knowledge of fluid power systems (hydraulics)
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (3D modeling) and AutoCAD (schematic design)
• Proven ability to design and troubleshoot hydraulic circuits
• Experience in industrial or underground mining applications is considered an asset
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Certified Fluid Power Associate (CFPA) designation is considered an asset
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in fluid power design

$37.00 - $49.00 hourly
