Position Purpose

As we scale our data and analytics capabilities, securing these platforms is crucial to protect sensitive business information. We're seeking an experienced Lead Security Engineer to lead the implementation and advocacy of data security controls across our analytics ecosystem. Join our team and play a key role in safeguarding our data assets while enabling innovation and business growth.

Responsibilities

• Use technical skills and expertise to assess and implement data security controls and configurations, within our various data and analytics platforms

• Working knowledge of current platforms like Google BigQuery, Informatica Cloud, PowerBi and Qlik.

• Advocate for risk reduction measures within a comprehensive strategy around securing and reporting for our various data platforms and their integrations.

• Model threats and advocate for controls that protect the business against financial loss, or leakage of sensitive information.

• Act as single point of contact for the Data, Bi and Analytics team for all relevant aspects of Data Security and secure implementations and integration to our Data Platforms.

• Review specification documents of functional and non-functional requirements for new features, functionalities, and enhancements.

• Analyze and determine the impact of new issues, functionality, and technology to existing business and system security processes and recommend adjustments needed to align with changing trends, behaviors, or performance.

• Effectively, consistently, and proactively communicate security issue status, and related information to cross-functional operational teams.

• Conduct research on industry trends and maintain knowledge of competitive landscape and digital innovations.

• Support and Partner with our cross-functional teams to drive security to become a business enabler.

Desired Qualifications & Experiences

• 3-7 years’ experience in Security, Data Security, Data Governance, and Application Security

• Familiarity with Data Security solutions for data sensitivity, encryption, tokenization, and software development lifecycle management

• Awareness of Data-platform solutions like, PowerBi, Google BigQuery, Informatica Cloud, and Qlik.

• Experience and skills in application security subject matter such as security code review, are desired.

• A programming background/interest is desired, particularly in Python.

• Familiarity with threat modelling of data and analytics platforms.

• Functional knowledge of privacy and regulation frameworks like SOC2, PCI, HIPAA, NIST Cybersecurity, and GDPR

• Experience and skills in the domains of Disaster recovery, business continuity, snapshots, and backups are desired

• Demonstrated experience with analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to use data to break down complex problems into root cause and formulate solutions

• Experience in the automotive/industrial industry is a plus

• Excellent oral and written communication

• Analytical and problem-solving skills

• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering fields, or equivalent experience
