Position Purpose
Seeking world-class talent to join the world’s leading distributor of automotive and industrial replacement parts and value-added services operating 5,500+ locations and servicing more than 20,000 locations in the U.S and Canada. Specifically, this role will function as the Staff Engineer of a newly formed team of Engineers to build the next generation Supplier & Product Data management and Integration Solutions at GPC. Working with a highly talented team, you'll play a key role in building and run one of the world’s largest automotive and industrial replacement parts operations.
The role will focus on designing and delivering high quality Supplier & Product Data Management/Integration Solutions, both as a leader of a multidisciplinary architecture team and as an individual contributor. This Staff Engineer will be responsible for delivering and implementing solution designs and documentation that conform to data management & integration best practices and cost-effectively satisfy business and technical requirements.
This role will work closely with Lead Engineers, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to deliver solutions that meet business requirements, adhere to defined technology standards, and align with the business and technology roadmap/strategy. The ability to collaborate and work effectively with all levels of management and staff within the organization is a core competency.
Additional leadership and supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, training employees, planning, assigning, and reviewing the work of technical team members, and timely communicating with management regarding the quality and performance of team members.
Responsibilities
Understand the current Supplier & Product Domain Landscape and lead the development and build of master data management, publication & syndication solutions to support the unified commerce systems.
Data validation: Standardize, validate, cleanse and keep up to date master data to ensure accuracy, consistency and adherence to data quality standards.
Reviews business context for solutions to company challenges as well as defining the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential options, selecting the most optimal option, and the development of a roadmap for the selected solution.
Initiate both group and one-on-one meetings with senior management to gain a clear understanding of business drivers and functional requirements.
Lead design and architecture discussions for IT platforms engaging with other staff engineers, engineering teams across different business units to ensure secure and scalable solutions.
Leverage expertise in designing and developing secure, scalable, resilient cloud native RESTful microservices and API’s to make available Domain Specific Master data to consumers within and outside the enterprise.
Communicates the architecture to the stakeholders and collaborates and coordinates with existing domain architects in the formalization and adoption of IT standards and procedures.
Defining Data Architecture, standards, industry best practices and communicating across engineering teams to ensure adoption and governance.
Design and document conceptual/logical data models, data flows and source to target mappings.
For the Supplier domain, maintain overall data models, lineage, data dictionary, glossary, etc. by using enterprise tools to be consistent across all other data domains and products.
Lead architecture, design, and code reviews with engineering teams.
Provides oversight on delivery to ensure industry best practices, standards, automation, quality, timeliness, operational readiness, continuous improvement, and cost-effective solutions.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to lead engineers and the technical team.
Lead the Team with solutions around Performance tuning and optimizing data processing/consumption workloads.
Coordinate with business and analytics needs to identify future requirements and solutions.

Desired Qualifications & Experiences
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
8+ years’ experience in software engineering & technology
Understanding of data management concepts, including governance, quality, modelling, and integration
Strong expertise and technical leadership in data structures and data modeling
Experience developing and maintaining the master data management system (MDM), including data integration, data modeling, and data migration.
Expertise in Data structures, Object-oriented programming, functional programming, familiarity with microservices, cloud Technologies.
Experience with programming languages, Java, JEE, latest features leveraging functional programming.
Experience in building cloud native microservices using Spring Boot or equivalent.
Experience in Big Data and NoSQL technologies like Cassandra, Big Table or equivalent.
Experience in writing SQLs to get analytical data from Google Big Query or equivalent OLAP databases.
Experience in designing event-driven mechanisms, publish/subscribe models and processing high volume batch workloads.
Experience with Enterprise Data Strategy, Data Integrations, Data Architecture, Data Reporting/Analytics.
Working knowledge of various types of database management systems and approaches to solve OLTP and OLAP workloads (including but not limited to traditional RDBMS systems, NoSQL, Big Data and modern cloud native data warehousing solutions)
Experience with Data Lake & Integration platforms, particularly SaaS solutions like Snowflake or Google Big Query, is a plus.
Experience in writing automated tests - Unit/Integration tests.
Experience with cloud computing on at-least one of major providers (Google Cloud Platform, AWS or Azure).
Experience in destructive testing methodologies and tools.
Experience in AI/ML, data science and statistical/machine is a plus.
