Position Purpose:
The primary role of the Staff Engineer in Identity Governance and Access Management (IGA) is to streamline and uphold our security programs. This dynamic position focuses on SailPoint IdentityNow (IDN) and involves cross-functional collaboration, requiring close coordination with leadership and architecture teams to develop innovative solutions, embrace new technologies, and tackle emerging challenges.
This engineering role is central to enabling IAM (Identity and Access Management) modernization, transformation, and execution for GPC’s unified IAM platforms.
The ideal candidate must be a technologist and engineer at heart, comfortable with enabling new technologies and executing strategies hands-on. They should possess a deep understanding of modern technology stacks and agile delivery models, demonstrate a focus on customer experience, and have a proven track record of modernizing technologies.
Close collaboration and alignment with business teams, application development teams, and security departments are essential. Therefore, exceptional skills in building and maintaining strong working relationships, along with organizational acumen, are critical. Proficient communication and presentation skills are also required. Additionally, the ability to attract, retain, and develop engineering talent will be of paramount importance.
Responsibilities:
Address end-user issues related to IGA within defined SLAs.
Develop and implement best-in-class Identity Management solutions on the SailPoint IDN platform.
Leverage out-of-the-box capabilities and custom development to integrate SailPoint with various systems.
Identify provisioning failures in the environment and provide effective solutions.
Develop workflows, rules, custom connectors, and task definitions.
Partner with internal teams to ensure support activities align with application designs.
Establish monitoring and alerting for key controls, and collaborate with audit teams to support control walkthroughs and evidence collection.
Identify opportunities for automation, evaluate new tools, and drive the implementation of technologies that create value for the organization.
Develop and maintain proper documentation, including configuration specifics and procedures, for implementing, operating, and maintaining solutions.
Build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and team members.
Participate in production support on-call rotations, particularly for complex issues.
Provide regular updates to the management team on project progress.
Perform user access certification activations and validations.
Assist in creating and updating the Segregation of Duties (SoD) matrix for IT roles.
Support the implementation and integration of IT RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) roles within SailPoint.
Facilitate the rollout and onboarding of new applications.
Provide bulk request support to users and application teams.
Perform ad hoc data requests and build operational reports.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents related to IAM.
Provide operational support within change and incident management processes.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience with SailPoint or another Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) tool, including configuration, integration, and deployment.
Strong experience in troubleshooting Identity & Access Governance tools, including RBAC and access certification.
Proven experience managing projects through the full system development lifecycle.
Technical architecture experience integrating identity management, access management, and access governance software into clients' infrastructure and applications.
Ability to develop, implement, and maintain identity and access management systems and solutions.
Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical issues related to identity and access management.
Experience collaborating with internal and external application support teams to enhance the utilization of identity governance solutions through connectors (e.g., REST API, LDAP, databases), facilitating new application onboarding.
Experience with Java and SQL is a plus.
Familiarity with directories such as LDAP and Active Directory (AD).
