Position Purpose:
Seeking a world-class Sr. Engineer - Quality to join our Supply Chain Technology team. Specifically, this role will report to the Director, Engineering. The Sr. Engineer - Quality is an experienced engineering professional who plays a crucial role in leading quality within a domain. They possess strong knowledge and skills in their specific engineering field, allowing them to handle complex projects and solve challenging problems. They ensure that coded and packaged solutions meet technical specifications with minimal defects. They contribute to the development of new technologies and methodologies, improving the efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness of engineering processes.
Responsibilities:
95% – Delivery & Execution:
Ability to write a test plan that proves the coded and package solution is fit for use.
Ability to leverage different testing techniques from unit, functional, regression, and performance testing.
Ability to manually write and script test approaches for coded and package solutions.
Ability to modify and create test frameworks that support automated coding to test systems.
Ability to modify and create test data solutions for testing purposes.
Knowledge in two or more coding languages to support automated testing e.g. Java / Javascript / Python.
Automate and run test scripts systematically and validate that the system is fit for use.
Guide software engineers to build out quality software with quality in mind through unit tests, integration tests, and manual validations.
Track and ensure a defect backlog is remediated.
Record any key defects and work with engineers to remediate to resolution.
Perform quality analysis on data to determine trends or issues.
Provide recommendations on how to remediate gaps and deficiencies.
Ability to work independently based upon direction and collaborate as a part of a team.
Identify root causes of coding or package software issues.
5% – Team & Talent:
Collaborate with a team to ensure that quality is forefront in delivery.
Ability to guide and mentor junior engineers and software engineers on the importance of quality.
Provide and educate others on testing framework usage and application
Participate and support learning activities across the organization.
Desired Qualifications & Experiences:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering fields, or equivalent experience
3-5 years of relevant work experience in software engineering & technology
Experience in delivering solutions based on strategies and priorities
Experience demonstrating problem-solving innovation and judgment
Demonstrated experience with current technologies that affect the business
Ability to adopt technology direction, industry best practices and standards
Experience playing a leadership role in a functional team
Experience building microservices via Domain Driven Design
Experience in building automation using test methodologies like TDD and BDD
Experience with public cloud offerings
Experience running end user-facing microservices
Track record of execution that supported the technology direction of a domain
