The hub is focused on the development of advanced technologies and solutions that support GPC's operations and growth.
The GPC Global Technology Center team works on a wide range of projects assisting in areas such as e-commerce and data platforms, supply chain solutions, selling systems, and cyber security. This is home to a team of highly skilled IT engineers who are dedicated to driving innovation and delivering cutting-edge solutions for GPC.
Position Purpose:
This individual must be a technologist & engineer at heart and be comfortable in enabling new technology and being hands-on with the execution of the strategy. Must exhibit a deep understanding of modern technology stack and agile delivery models, demonstrate a focus on customer experience, and must have a proven track record of modernizing technologies.
Close collaboration and alignment with business teams, SRE, application development teams, and security will be required. As such, exceptional abilities in building and maintaining strong working relationships and organizational savvy will be required. Solid communication and presentation skills are required.
Responsibilities:
- Proficiency in modern frontend frameworks and libraries, such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Solid understanding of microservices and cloud Technologies in the context of frontend development.
- Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.
- Measure and optimize system performance to push our capabilities forward, get ahead of customer needs, and innovate to improve continually.
- Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large, distributed software applications.
- Partner with other development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
- Advanced skills in programming languages for front-end development, such as TypeScript or ECMAScript.
- Proven experience in designing and executing A/B Tests for user interfaces and analyzing key metrics.
- Experience in independently building cloud-native frontend applications using frameworks like Next.js or equivalent.
- Proven track record of building high-performance, low-latency user interfaces for end users.
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science or Engineering fields
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering & technology
- Ability to program with one or more high-level languages, JavaScript, React, Java, and related libraries
- Experience in CI/CD, GitHub, and GitHub Action.
- Experience working in Cloud technologies (GCP preferably)
