Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently deliver parts, pallets, and other merchandise from the DC to stores on a regularly scheduled or as-needed basis.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and tracking systems to account for all deliveries.
- Ensure the security of company assets, vehicles, and merchandise during transport and delivery.
- Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining a friendly, professional demeanor and addressing any issues related to product delivery.
- Ability to establish and maintain good relations with customers by providing courteous, efficient, and professional service.
- Maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of the delivery vehicle and personal presentation, adhering to company policies on conduct and dress.
- Schedule and complete all required training as assigned by management.
- Assist with loading and unloading heavy pallets and other merchandise using appropriate moving aids such as hand trucks, barrel dollies, hydraulic lifts, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the company’s mission and vision.
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required.
- Functionally literate and capable of understanding and recognizing part numbers and line codes to ensure accurate selection and delivery of parts.
- Able to identify and remember sequences of numbers and letters quickly and accurately.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills in a professional manner.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with no DWI convictions within the past four years.
- No more than three moving violations or two at-fault accidents in the last three years.
- Have a working knowledge of the part of the city(s) the Distribution Center services and be able to operate a vehicle equipped with a manual transmission (if required). Be able to work the hours as assigned by management.
- Must possess and maintain a validDOT Medical Card to comply with Department of Transportation requirements.
- Able to move heavy items such as engine blocks, core barrels, and other equipment using appropriate moving aids.
- Capable of bending, stooping, and reaching upper shelves (up to eight feet) using a stool or ladder when necessary.
- Able to stand and walk for the entire work shift.
- Able to speak clearly and listen attentively.
- Capable of recognizing and distinguishing letters and numbers both visually and aurally and remembering their sequence.
