Job Description
Direct the RMDS Operations to ensure accurate and timely shipping processes of all freight with maximum efficiency. Ensure effective coaching methods throughout the operations while maintaining all company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Efficiency planning and coordination of administrative activities to ensure accurate results in all aspects picking/shipping and related operations.
- Ensuring continuous review and improvements of operational processes to ensure accuracy and compliance. Oversee daily monitoring efforts to ensure productivity objectives meet company/departmental standards.
- Maintaining awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues.
- Arrange daily/weekly meetings with staff as appropriate to review overall team/individual performance.
- Confirming all customers’ deadlines and priority cut-off times are met.
- Ensuring the tracking and maintaining productivity standards for each associate.
- Making sure that special instructions are followed and utilizing appropriate methods at all times.
- Controlling mis-ship and backorders and locating missing product as needed.
- Plan, direct and maximizing all OS&D functions.
- Assisting with strategy for new cross-dock ventures.
- Monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to track success and/or recurring problems.
- Attracting and retaining qualified and motivated workforce; while encouraging new ideas for improvements.
- Authorizing productivity tracking standards/assessments, supplies, and equipment needs.
- Developing personnel to ensure appropriate back up/successors in all key positions. Coach and groom direct reports for excellence while documenting their progress and cross-training to provide adequate coverage in key areas.
- Providing oversight while evaluating employee performance, handle disciplinary issues and maintaining an environment of respect and accountability.
- Requiring a “Tour Ready” and safe work area and securing building/operations at end of shift.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Ideal candidate must be proficient with:
- MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.) O
- Operational systems/software (i.e. SAP, Yantra, etc.)
- Be able to multi-task and perform excellent communication, supervisory and customer service skills.
- Must be able to identify problems and resolve in a timely manner; possess a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks and resources appropriately.
- Promote an environment conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and effectiveness.
- Ability to stand, stoop, lift and perform manual dexterity.
- Be physically in attendance at designated company office location during normal business hours designated for the position.
- Able to lift up to 70 pounds, operate related equipment as needed and able to travel as needed.
- Bachelors’ degree and min. 5 yrs warehouse distribution management experience preferred along with strong background of leadership training/development.
