SUMMARY:

The Software Engineer V performs complex problem resolution analysis and corrections, develops new software based on approved design documents, and corrects system problems for a large portfolio of applications. acts as a Technical lead for the team.

JOB DUTIES

  • Maintains responsibility for a large portfolio of applications.
  • Provides thought leadership and shares knowledge a the internal subject matter expert.
  • Responsible for global coordination of resources and serves as Technical Lead wielding significant influence.
  • Leads and is accountable for overall technical solutions delivery of business software applications and has a track record of successfully executing complex solutions.
  • Has company wide functional impact by providing strategic technical leadership and vision to the organization.
  • Responsible for translating the functional specifications into an application architecture that is conducive to IT's technical processes and standards.
  • Represents IT as the principal technical contact and often performs technical project leadership roles.
  • Works on unusually complex problems and provides solutions that are highly creative.
  • Manages critical projects, customer engagements or business processes and advises junior team members.
  • Develops innovative and creative output based on interpretation and analysis that improves business performance and contributes to corporate goals and strategic intent.
  • Responsible for mentoring developers with code reviews, design reviews and unit test plan reviews.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field and twelve (12) or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Applies a comprehensive knowledge of applications programming and design to analyze and isolate complex issues.
  • Advanced leadership skills.
  • Expert knowledge and application of client/server networks.
  • Applies knowledge to analyze and develop solutions to highly complex problems.
  • Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge of key business processes, current and future requirements, and key success factors.
  • Thorough understanding of key business drivers and ability to communicate and translate those needs to technical solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior management.
  • This position may require working the evening shift (5pm to 2am) and will vary based on certain times of the year to support a new client.
