Job Description
Job Title: Solution Architect
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Job Summary: Motion is seeking a skilled Solutions Architect with a strong background in designing and implementing APIs and services utilizing a real-time, event driven service-oriented architecture (SOA) to drive digital transformation in the organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in architecting solutions across multiple business domains on cloud platforms and have a proven track record of delivering scalable and reliable systems.
You must be eligible to work in the US without Visa Sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and architect scalable, real-time, cloud-native solutions which span multiple business domains.
• Develop and implement APIs and microservices using service-oriented architecture (SOA) principles.
• Ensure solutions integrate seamlessly with existing ERP systems, legacy systems, and third-party SaaS products.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and prepare technical and functional specifications.
• Determine or establish Business Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure solutions meet business needs and performance standards.
• Perform technical assessments, feasibility studies, and proof of concepts (POCs) for new initiatives and projects.
• Conduct performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization of cloud-based applications and services.
• Conduct regular assessments of existing systems and recommend improvements.
• Guide and mentor development teams in implementation of solutions ensuring architectural integrity and following best practices.
• Collaborate with international teams across various time zones, being cognizant of cultural differences.
• Ensure solutions comply with industry and governance standards, including security and data privacy regulations.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in cloud computing and cloud services.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5-6 years of experience designing and delivering solutions using service-oriented architecture (SOA).
• Experience with standard enterprise architecture frameworks (such as TOGAF, Gartner Enterprise Architecture Framework) in solution design and implementation.
• Proven experience architecting solutions on Cloud Platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure), including proficiency in Cloud Platform services such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, etc.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, API design, and implementation using RESTful APIs or GraphQL.
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Deployment Manager).
• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Cloud certifications preferred.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
