SUMMARY:
The Project Manager of Procurement Strategy will oversee the strategic/critical projects related to procurement for Motion Industries. The projects will include, but are not limited to: procurement modeling, supplier optimization, procurement analytics, process improvements, communication efforts, etc. The project manager will work to build relationships with cross-functional teams ensuring procurement projects are completed and implemented to the greatest benefit for the company. The project manager will collaborate with Procurement leadership and other Supply Chain team members to create innovative solutions to support departmental and company strategy.
JOB DUTIES
- Collects, aggregates, and analyzes data from multiple internal and external sources to drive insights into business performance.
- Produces actionable reports that show key performance indicators, identifies areas of improvement into current operations, and displays root cause analysis of problems.
- Enhances data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building advanced analytics.
- Communicates findings and insights to Executive Team and Field Leadership and provides business strategy recommendations for optimizing business performance.
- Uses data to identify process improvements for the business based on collaboration with team members. Creates data visualizations and presentations; requires advanced PowerPoint knowledge.
- Develops complex queries, simulation models, advanced purchasing metrics, supplier scorecards, etc. Requires ability to use predictive analytics to drive sound business decisions.
- Provides reporting solutions and responds to ad-hoc report requests
- Works with IT Department to enhance current and future procurement processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Works with Director of Procurement Strategy and other supply chain team members to create data analytics that support company objectives, helps solve business problems, and assists in continuous assessment and monitoring of procurement activity.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, statistics, applied mathematics, analytics, or a related field, and at least one (1) year of experience managing projects is preferred.
- Strong analytical problem solving skills and a background in quantitative thinking and statistical data analysis is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Ability to identify the level, timing, and type of communications for the intended audience.
- Active listening skills and ability to ask questions as required to validate understanding. Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated competence and confidence in verbal communications required.
- Understanding of predictive analytics.
- Ability to organize ideas logically to achieve the objectives of the written communication.
- Strong relationship building skills with both internal/external stakeholders through effective communication.
- Solid understanding of databases and data structures is essential. Experience with visual analytics tools, such as Tableau, PowerBI, or QlikView.
- Experience in data mining, cleaning, query development, scripting, programming, and business intelligence.
- Experience with application of statistical skills such as distributions, statistical testing, and regression analysis.
- Demonstrated efficiency and effectiveness of managing their own time required.
