Manager, Search Engine Marketing

SUMMARY:

The Manager, Search Engine Marketing will be primarily focused on driving search engine optimization (SEO) strategies to increase website traffic, improve search rankings, enhance online visibility, and ensure site health in the eyes of search engines. This role will also work closely with the PPC team to align search marketing efforts across paid and organic channels. The ideal candidate will have deep technical SEO expertise, a working knowledge of the changing landscape with AI Engine Optimization, combined with strong cross-functional collaboration skills. Candidates with high-level knowledge of PPC preferred.

JOB DUTIES

  • Develop, implement, and optimize comprehensive SEO strategies including on-page, off- page, technical SEO, and content optimization.
  • Collaborate closely with the PPC/Paid Media team to ensure alignment between organic and paid search efforts.
  • Partner with content, web development, and design teams to execute SEO best practice and improve user experience.
  • Analyze SEO performance metrics through tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, or similar, and prepare actionable reports.
  • Identify and resolve technical SEO issues such as site architecture, crawlability, and indexing challenges.
  • Stay current with industry trends, search engine algorithm updates, and evolving SEO and AIO practices.
  • Support cross-channel marketing campaigns by providing SEO guidance and insights.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related field and five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience or an equivalent combination.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Proven SEO experience (3-5 years) with measurable improvements in search rankings and organic traffic.
  • Strong understanding of SEO tools and platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, etc.
  • Familiarity with PPC advertising platforms (Google Ads, Bing Ads) and the ability to collaborate effectively with PPC teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and deliver actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of HTML and website optimization best practices is desirable.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Experience managing SEO projects and initiatives cross-functionally.
  • SEO certifications or relevant training preferred.
  • The ideal candidate has a deep background in technical SEO best practices including but not limited to canonicalization strategy, schema implementation, and XML sitemap maintenance.
  • Experience with the following tools preferred: BrightEdge, Agency Analytics, Google Analytics and/or Adobe Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Merchant Center, SEO quake or other SEO auditing tools.
