Job Description
SUMMARY:
The Communications and Events Specialist is responsible for collaborating with the Communications and Events team to help implement Motion’s overall communications plan, build awareness about Motion digitally, and to assist with projects concerning both internal and external initiatives.
The Communications and Events Specialist works closely with other cross-functional teams. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, keen attention to detail, as well as excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
JOB DUTIES:
· Create and execute social media content on Motion’s main social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram).
· Monitor social media channels.
· Research potential industry tradeshows.
· On-site support for tradeshows and events.
· Assist in gathering content and information for internal stories.
· Post and review all marketing materials within the company’s intranet site.
· Measure and report on the performance of all internal stories and campaigns.
· Submit advertising materials to third party publications in a timely manner.
· Track and record print placements and digital analytics from third party publications.
· Utilize department project management tool to move projects through approval processes.
· Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Typically requires a bachelor's degree with a focus in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field and three (3) to five (5) years of experience or an equivalent combination.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
· Motivated self-starter who can work both individually and with a team.
· Detail oriented but able to work within a strategic plan.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (particularly Excel & PowerPoint).
· Ability to meet deadlines and to anticipate next steps or needs.
· Understands and can utilize web/social media management and measurement tools.
· Must be willing to travel.
