Senior Compensation Analyst

Position Mission:

Provides compensation analysis and support for employees of GPC. Assists in the planning, development and implementation of new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures that are linked to business objectives in order to attract, retain and motivate employees. Ensures the company’s programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies, internal controls and government regulations.

Responsibilities:The following section contains the primary responsibilities for this position.  Job holder is responsible for performing any other duties as assigned by management. 

  • Research questions, interprets policies, and assists with review of compensation issues.
  • Lead market pricing activities for assigned area of responsibility using Market Pay, develops recommendations for new hires and promotions to ensure internal equity and external market competitiveness, and communicates recommendations with the HR Partners. 
  • Assist in the maintenance and administration of the Career Framework
  • Provide support for the implementation and management of GPC’s Corporate Salary Structure. Assist with modeling and cost analysis related to base salaries.  Analyzes competitiveness of pay ranges/rates to market data and local conditions. 
  • Assist with various compensation projects in conjunction with outside consultants.
  • Design training and job aides to educate Human Resources Business Partners on new compensation policies and procedures.
  • Partner in the design, development, and implementation of automated solutions around compensation processes.
  • Participate in on going pay equity audits across GPC and U.S. business units.  Partner with Compensation leads in each business unit and outside consultants on the process.
  • Assist with the department’s annual budget to include invoice processing and tracking year to date spend.
  • Responsible for leading the annual salary planning process in Workday to include creation of the cycle, analysis, and costing of recommendations; partner with Payroll to implement increases.
  • Support salary survey administration for GPC Corporate and US Business Units.  Manages the relationships with third party vendor.

Experience, Education, and Abilities:

  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Compensation Analyst
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience, required.
  • Prior experience with Workday preferred
  • Previous experience with online market pricing tool preferred.
  • Knowledge of state and federal employee compensation laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Expert excel skills required and must be proficient with other MS Office Products: Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Direct experience with analyzing large, complex data sets and interacting with relational databases.  Ability to develop recommendations to management levels.
  • Excellent HRIS skills, particularly with queries
  • Ability to deal with multiple issues simultaneously with a sense of urgency and to work effectively in ambiguous situations while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction/supervision.
  • Must maintain confidentiality, discretion, and integrity
  • Work performed in a typical office environment and no travel is anticipated
