Position Purpose:

Seeking world-class talent to join the world’s leading distributor of automotive and industrial replacement parts and value-added services operating 5,500+ locations and servicing more than 20,000 locations in the U.S and Canada. Specifically, this role will function as a Sr. UX Researcher leading research efforts for one or more products.  Working with a driven and talented team, you'll play a key role in understanding our customers and helping design products that drive business and industry impact.

The Senior UX Researcher plays an integral role in the strategy, conceptualization, and design of our company's user experiences. The purpose of the position is to understand our users’ needs, behaviors, experiences, and motivations to influence the direction and design of our products and services.  The ideal candidate will have an expert understanding of research methods and best practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage their work through an entire research project.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, conduct, and synthesize qualitative and quantitative user research, including usability testing, contextual inquiries, surveys, interviews, and competitive analysis.
  • Work closely with Product/UX/UI designers, product managers, and engineers to transform research data into innovative design solutions.
  • Develop and maintain user archetypes, journey maps, behaviors, and workflow analyses.
  • Foster a culture of test and learn, establishing best practices and methodologies for user research.
  • Document and communicate research findings and insights to stakeholders clearly and impactfully to help drive product strategy.
  • Advocate for the user throughout the product development process, ensuring that user needs are considered at every stage.
  • Contribute toward the development and execution of user research programs that provide actionable insights, keeping both user needs and business objectives in mind.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Location:

  • This position will be based in Atlanta, GA at GPC’s office in Marietta.
  • We offer a Flexible Work Policy that permits eligible employees to work a hybrid remote schedule.

Desired Qualifications & Experiences: 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, Human Factors, Anthropology, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience in UX research or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years (5+ preferred) of experience in UX Research, preferably in a senior role.
  • Proven experience in conducting user research activities such as contextual inquiry, usability testing, user interviews, surveys, archetype development, and journey mapping.
  • Proficient in using UX research tools and software.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate user needs, pain points and behaviors in a compelling and effective way.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating effectively with stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a democratized research environment—enabling, mentoring, and partnering with non-researchers to conduct high-quality research.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience working in design for ecommerce, retail and/or supply chain.
  • Experience leveraging AI-powered research tools and methodologies (e.g., AI-assisted surveys, unmoderated testing platforms, large language models for synthesis, or predictive analytics).
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity—able to define research questions, choose appropriate methods, and uncover clarity in complex or evolving problem spaces.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables.
