The HR Project Manager is responsible for driving the execution of various HR-related projects and initiatives related to service delivery, stabilization of operational functions and process improvement. This role is responsible for all phases of the project lifecycle, which may include requirement analysis, resource allocation, coordination, execution, vendor management and implementation.
This role will regularly interact with key stakeholders, cross-functional team members and subject matter experts to deliver successful outcomes and ensure all project requirements, objectives, risks, dependencies, and decisions are documented.
Responsibilities
Project Management
- Translate business objectives into projects with clearly defined scope, timing, deliverables, resources, and key measures of success.
- Lead and oversee projects related to process excellence, process redesign, automation, and optimization by leveraging project management methodologies to monitor, track, and deliver expected project related outcomes.
- Formulate and continually re-assess the appropriate project management approach and project management skill set / resourcing mix across internal and external partners to ensure all project tasks are successfully completed.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Proactively monitor project progress, identify risks and implement strategies to mitigate.
Communication and Stakeholder Management
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders the ensure stakeholders are informed and involved in the project lifecycle to ensure alignment on objectives and engagement.
- Collaborate with team members to facilitate the implementation of new/enhanced processes and technologies.
Project Execution
- Manage resources, including staff and vendors, to ensure project goals are met.
- Facilitate meetings and workshops and drive project issues through to resolution.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.
- Proactively manage and communicate ongoing changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans.
- Coach, mentor, motivate and lead project team members. Influence project team to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Manage Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) with vendors relating to HR projects.
Post-Implementation Transition and Evaluation
- Support the ongoing development of best practices and tools for HR project management and execution.
- Conduct project post-mortems and create recommendations in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Ensure comprehensive and seamless project post-implementation transition.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or relevant work experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience within Human Resources project management with a focus on process excellence and employee experience
- Six Sigma Green Belt, PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications preferred
- Exceptional ability to influence without authority and a proven track record of successful project execution, leading peers, partners, and leaders through transformational projects.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to independently set objectives, prioritize multiple deliverables, and translate strategy to execution to drive operational excellence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and develop data drive solutions.
- Proven track record of successfully leading HR process improvement projects from conception to implementation
- Excellent and proactive communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization and across organizational boundaries.
- An individual who demonstrates curiosity, learning agility, discipline, and commitment.
- Business acumen and the ability to translate organizational objectives to business results.
- Background in process improvement, process harmonization, and optimization.
- Technical proficiency and previous experience with Workday, ServiceNow HRSD, Kronos, RPA, and workflow automation tools.
- Previous HR project management experience required, including demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with different stakeholder sets
