Director of Asset Protection Systems, Programs, & Compliance
Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Director of Asset Protection Systems, Programs, and Compliance to join our dynamic auto parts team. The Director of Asset Protection Systems, Programs, and Compliance is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing enterprise-wide asset protection systems, programs, and compliance initiatives to safeguard company assets, reduce shrink, and ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational standards. This role requires a strategic leader with expertise in leveraging technology, designing effective programs, and driving compliance to create a robust asset protection framework.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of asset protection technologies, including CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and exception-based reporting tools.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance asset protection capabilities and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT and vendors to ensure systems are properly integrated, maintained, and aligned with company objectives.
- Monitor system performance and ensure timely resolution of technical issues to minimize disruptions.
- Design and implement scalable asset protection programs tailored to address theft prevention, fraud mitigation, and operational shrink reduction.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and best practices to standardize asset protection efforts across all locations.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Store Operations, Supply Chain, and Human Resources, to ensure alignment and successful execution of Asset Protection programs.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of asset protection programs and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead the development and enforcement of compliance programs to ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Partner with legal and regulatory teams to address compliance-related concerns and maintain documentation to support audit readiness.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends to proactively address potential compliance risks.
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees at all levels on Asset Protection systems, programs, and compliance requirements.
- Promote a culture of accountability and awareness around Asset Protection and compliance throughout the organization.
- Provide guidance and support to regional and field Asset Protection teams to ensure consistent execution of programs and policies.
- Analyze Asset Protection data, including shrink trends, risk assessments, and compliance metrics, to identify areas for improvement and prioritize initiatives.
- Prepare and present reports to senior leadership on the performance of Asset Protection systems, programs, and compliance efforts.
- Leverage data insights to develop actionable strategies to address vulnerabilities and improve outcomes.
- Lead and mentor a team of Asset Protection professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Operations, Finance, and Legal teams, to drive alignment and support for Asset Protection initiatives.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external partners, including vendors, auditors, and law enforcement agencies, on matters related to systems, programs, and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in asset protection, loss prevention, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing asset protection systems, designing programs, and ensuring compliance in a multi-site or enterprise-level environment.
- Expertise in asset protection technologies, including CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and data analytics tools.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to asset protection and compliance.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Loss Prevention Certified (LPC) preferred
- Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI) preferred
Physical Demands / Working Environment
- Occasional travel to company locations, vendor sites, and industry events as needed.
- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate business needs and deadlines.
