We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director to lead our HR Shared Services Operational Excellence organization reporting to the Senior Director of HR Shared Services. It’s an exciting time at Genuine Parts Company’s HR Shared Services (HRSS) team as we are focused on moving from a team that provides transactional-focused services to one that creates transformational experiences. You will play a key leadership role in developing the service delivery blue sky vision and executing on key initiatives to shift the HRSS team to the service delivery model of the future.
The HRSS team is a key component of the employee experience, and you will play a vital leadership role in developing and executing key strategic initiatives designed to elevate the HR service delivery experience. In partnership with key stakeholders, you will define performance standards, implement strategies for process excellence, and lead quality interventions to ensure consistent delivery of exceptional, contemporary, customer centric HRSS experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery Strategy Development and Execution
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of HR Shared Services, peers, partners, and other key Executive stakeholders to develop and execute the transformation of the HRSS organization and future state roadmap.
- Lead the review and modernization of the HRSS service delivery strategy.
- Identify opportunities to enhance customer-centricity, improve effectiveness, and increase efficiency through centralization, harmonization, optimization, and digitization.
Process Excellence and Project Management Leadership
- Leads HR Project Management team members through full project lifecycle activities including project chartering, kickoff, execution, implementation, and sustainment.
- Works with team to monitor, track, and conduct risk mitigation activities.
- Leads change management efforts to ensure seamless project and initiative implementations and transitions.
- Acts as Project Manager on projects that are highly complex or sensitive.
- Lead process excellence initiatives within the HR shared services team, including process redesign, automation, and optimization, to drive continuous improvement and enhance service delivery.
Service Delivery Quality and Continuous Improvement
- Lead the review, reinvention, and deployment of the HRSS service delivery standards including providing regular and ad-hoc reporting on organizational KPI and quality metrics.
- Leads initiatives to ensure clarity in HRSS roles and responsibilities and documents standard operating procedures.
- Leads development of the HRSS knowledge management and learning strategy.
- Lead quality assurance interventions including monitoring organizational KPI, deploying performance interventions, and proving data driven insights into future opportunities.
- Executes on communications strategy to ensure stakeholders receive timely, clear, and relevant messaging on key items of importance.
Compliance
- Leads ongoing compliance efforts including deployment of standard and ad-hoc reporting requests.
- Partners with key stakeholders to implement new compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Conducts regular audits to ensure compliance with Company policy, local, state, and federal laws.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive leadership experience within global shared services organizations, preferably HR Shared Services.
- Exceptional leadership skills and ability including a proven track record of developing high performing teams, driving performance, and leading peers, partners, and leaders through organizational change.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to set organizational objectives, prioritize multiple deliverables, and execute strategic plans that drive operational excellence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and develop solutions.
- Excellent and proactive communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization and across organizational boundaries.
- A leader who demonstrates courage, curiosity, learning agility, discipline, and commitment.
- Business acumen and the ability to tie organizational objectives to business results.
- Background in process improvement, process harmonization, and optimization.
- Technical proficiency and previous experience with Workday, ServiceNow HRSD, Kronos, RPA, and workflow automation tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration
- Six Sigma Green Belt, Project Management, Change Management Certifications
- 10+ years of organizational transformation experience, preferably within HR Shared Services
