Position Purpose

We’re seeking a talented Product Manager to lead three agile teams in building next-generation Shop Management platforms at GPC, the world’s leading distributor of automotive and industrial replacement parts. Your mission: define and deliver backend-driven, scalable solutions that transform repair shop operations from the ground up — taking products from concept (0) to market success (1) and beyond.

You will have end-to-end ownership of the product lifecycle — identifying customer pain points, collaborating with engineering on backend architecture and APIs, guiding design for usability, and leading strategic decisions that impact the entire business. Expect to support business reviews, communicate the product vision, present across all levels of the organization, and contribute to improving product management practices.

This role will have a large scope and a high degree of ownership as you direct creation of products related to repair shop management software and lead teams in the definition, discovery, design, development, and delivery of end-to-end capabilities leveraging technology, operations, and process.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Strategy & Vision

  • Drive growth for the business by applying customer and domain expertise to provide thought leadership and translate vision into outcomes
  • Own and maintain a product roadmap driven by the highest impact customer needs while considering delivery cost
  • Think creatively and propose innovative solutions to customer problems
  • Define and communicate value propositions, OKRs, success metrics, and outcomes
  • Work with leadership to evaluate and prioritize opportunities
  • Collaborate with engineering and design to deliver a feasible, usable product
  • Maintain knowledge of competitive landscape and technology innovations

Execution & Delivery

  • Represent both the customer and the business throughout the technology development process
  • Identify areas where research is needed to inform a solution or validate a hypothesis
  • Plan and conduct user research both independently and with support from UX Research
  • Own prioritization and maintain a product backlog
  • Document requirements (functional and non-functional) via Product Requirements Documents, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Groom and refine user stories
  • Plan and conduct user showcases and acceptance testing
  • Track KPIs to measure outcomes and adjust plans as needed

Stakeholder & Team Leadership

  • Collaborate with all product development stakeholders (UX, Engineering, Security, others) to ensure successful delivery of products
  • Identify and manage dependencies
  • Manage stakeholder expectations via transparent communication of progress, risks, and trade-offs
  • Communicate and provide regular updates to the product roadmap
  • Mentor and support junior product team members to build a high-performing product management organization

Qualifications:

Required

  • College degree; MBA or another Master’s degree are nice to have
  • 8+ years experience in product management, including experience owning the product lifecycle in Agile environments
  • Proven experience defining strategy, roadmaps, and owning results
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong technical proficiency with backend technologies, APIs, and system integrations
  • Mastery of the product discovery process including user research, data analysis, and competitive research
  • Mastery of identifying goals, metrics, and analytics to measure product value
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred

  • Experience taking a product from 0 to 1
  • Experience supporting and mentoring others
  • Experience in B2B SaaS
  • Experience with Shop Management Systems
  • Experience with the automotive aftermarket
