Position Purpose

The successful candidate will have a strong background in e-commerce and a proven track record of implementing highly available, resilient, high-traffic solutions on cloud platforms. This role requires an individual with extensive knowledge and experience in Java and Spring Boot.

This individual must be a technologist & engineer at heart and be comfortable in enabling new technology and being hands on with the execution of the strategy.  

She/he must exhibit a deep understanding of modern technology stack and agile delivery models, demonstrated focus on customer experience, and must have a proven track record of modernizing technologies.

Close collaboration and alignment with business teams,application development teams and security will be required.  As such, exceptional abilities in building and maintaining strong working relationships and organizational savvy will be required.  High level communication and presentation skills are required. Ability to attract, retain, and develop engineering talent will be critical.

Responsibilities

  • High-Performance Systems: Develop highly scalable and resilient solutions capable of handling high transaction volumes and ensuring high uptime.

  • Software Development: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient Java code. Utilize Spring Boot for microservices architecture.

  • Technical Leadership: Guide technical decisions, lead discussions, inspire innovation, and advocate for technology standards and best practices.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with various teams to translate business requirements into technology solutions. Provide technical mentorship to engineering teams.  Forms strong relationships with our business partners

  • Risk Management: Identify technical and operational risks and work on mitigation strategies.

  • Development practices: An advocate for development practices such as TDD and Pairing

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • At least 8 years of professional experience in software development, with a significant focus on e-commerce systems.

  • Profound knowledge and experience in Java and Spring Boot.

  • Proven experience in designing and building applications on Google Cloud Platform.

  • Experience with high-volume, high-availability e-commerce platforms.

  • Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex challenges effectively.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
