Hydraulic Field Service Support Technician 

Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM + Overtime as Needed, Some Overnights

Savannah, GA

Greenville, SC

Are you mechanically inclined, customer-focused, and ready to take ownership of your work? Join our team as a Hydraulic Field Service Support Technician and operate your own fully equipped mobile hose shop — delivering expert hydraulic hose service directly to customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive a company service van to customer sites

  • Diagnose hydraulic hose issues and perform on-site hose replacements

  • Build and assemble hydraulic hoses and connections

  • Completing hydraulic power units to ensure fully operational, turnkey delivery

  • Ensure operational quality of equipment and systems

  • Educating customers on system operation and maintenance

  • Generate invoices and manage service documentation

  • Build relationships and make sales calls using your technical expertise

What We’re Looking For

  • Mechanically inclined with hydraulic and hose knowledge

  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently at customer sites

  • Professional, reliable, and customer-focused

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

  • High school diploma or GED (0–2 years relevant experience required)

JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision, provides highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. Checks out and approves operational quality of system equipment. Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the system.

JOB DUTIES

  • Specializes in providing on-site installation customer support and performing diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems.

  • Interprets customers' needs and clarifies the responsibility for problem resolution.

  • Performs feasibility and approves operational quality of system equipment.

  • Provides on-site technical product support and service to customers.

  • Provides customers with assistance with the operation and maintenance of the system.

  • Serves as Motion's liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Typically requires a high school diploma or GED and zero (0) to two (2) years or relevant experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Maintenance and reliability background

  • Ability to work independently

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability

  • Strong communication skills required

  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a stressful situation

  • Ability to manage contract location resources

  • Ability to manage travel budget

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • More than 50% travel required.

  • Push/pull up to 100 pounds

  • Lift/carry up to 100 pounds

  • Lift bulky objects

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS: Excellent driving record preferred.  All company vehicles are subject to continuous video monitoring.
