NAPA Auto Parts Counter Salespeople are the backbone of our business, delivering excellent customer service and knowledge to our long-standing customers.  Our KnowHow is the reason our customers continue to come back, and we depend on our Counter Sales team to exemplify our commitment to quality  

Primary Responsibilities

  •  Identify and sell the correct automotive and light-duty truck parts using electronic catalogs, VINs, vehicle information, and other resources.
  •  Assist  commercial and retail customers in person and by telephone with availability, pricing, orders, and product questions.
  •  Create accurate invoices, quotes, special orders, returns, warranties, and credits under company procedures.
  •  Verify applications, part numbers, quantities, prices, account information, and delivery details before completing transactions.
  •  Source parts from distribution centers, company locations, vendors, and approved suppliers when necessary.
  •  Follow up on special orders, back-orders, quotes, and customer commitments.
  •  Recommend related parts, tools, chemicals, and supplies when they provide legitimate customer value.
  •  Protect customer relationships by communicating delays, shortages, and mistakes promptly.
  •  Assist with stocking, merchandising, cycle counts, shelf-location accuracy, and store recovery.
  •  Maintain an organized, professional sales counter, showroom, and assigned work area.
  •  Coordinate with commercial sales, drivers, warehouse staff, other stores, and management.
  •  Perform additional sales and operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  •  High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
  •  Automotive parts, repair, dealership, retail parts, or counter sales experience strongly preferred.
  •  Automotive mechanical knowledge and electronic catalog experience preferred.
  •  Ability to identify parts by year, make, model, engine, VIN, and application information.
  •  Strong computer, point-of-sale, communication, math, and cash-handling skills.
  •  Dependable attendance, reliable transportation, and the ability to manage several customers and tasks without losing accuracy.
  •  ASE Parts Specialist certification is a plus.
