SUMMARY:
Design and develop software to support the manufacture of machine vision solutions for industrial 2D & 3D machine vision inspection systems. The software will be deployed to a wide range of industries utilizing an array of technologies (C++, C#, .NET, SQL, etc.). Integrate and build supporting frameworks and libraries for use with commercial vision sensor platforms.
Must be able to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
JOB DUTIES
Technical leader within the department
Microsoft WinForms based design and development
Multi-threaded application and library development to support the implementation of 2D & 3D vision system solutions and applications in C#/.NET
Develop and build software libraries and utilities and integrate with the vision systems
Support, design and develop libraries and interfaces for commercial off the shelf hardware system components (cameras, sensors, PLC’s, encoders etc.)
Develop, build, and support library interfaces to common vision tools (MVTec Halcon, Matrox, Sick, Keyence, OpenCV, National Instruments, etc.)
Support debugging and resolving issues with systems in development and currently deployed
Unit testing and benchmarking software/hardware
Act as a subject matter expert in software development for other members of the team
Improve performance capabilities of overall software architecture
Learn and utilize new technologies as is practical in support of the above responsibilities
Maintain professional appearance/demeanor and a positive attitude in challenging situations
Must be able to analyze many variables and choose the most effective course of action given the situation
Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience.
Demonstrated software system design and development leadership
Ability to debug complex software systems and develop applications
Ability to work independently or as part of a team, and work with multiple projects simultaneously
Industrial automation knowledge
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Works as a key member of cross functional teams and must display a can-do attitude that sets an example for others.
Proficient use of CAD software and Microsoft Office suite software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to organize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong mechanical and math skills and ability to formulate ideas and create design solutions for internal and external customer needs.
Field experience is a plus.
Ability to resolve problems in a courteous and tactful manner
Ability to follow documented company procedures
Must be a motivated, self-starter with the ability to follow directions and complete assignments on time with minimal supervision
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
May require travel and specific safety training to work in dangerous and extreme environment conditions while collecting data or commissioning new systems at the customer’s location.
20% travel - domestic & international
