The GPC Global Technology Center team works on a wide range of projects assisting in areas such as e-commerce and data platforms, supply chain solutions, selling systems, and cyber security. This is home to a team of highly skilled IT engineers who are dedicated to driving innovation and delivering cutting-edge solutions for GPC.
Position Purpose:
As a Associate Product Manager, you will be an integral part of our growing eCommerce organization and support the functional analysis and delivery of our Commerce Services platform.
You will work closely with the Product Owner to analyze, clarify, and document requirements for commerce domain services supporting B2B and B2C storefronts, as well as internal sales tools. You will collaborate with engineers, Tech Leads, Architects, QA specialists, UX specialists, and business stakeholders to ensure business processes, system behavior, integrations, and user experiences are clearly understood.
You will help transform early-stage ideas, ambiguous business needs, and UX designs into well-structured epics, development-ready user stories, and precise acceptance criteria. This includes documenting business rules, process flows, system interactions, dependencies, edge cases, data requirements, and non-functional requirements.
A key part of the role is creating and maintaining clear technical and functional documentation. You will use system diagrams, flowcharts, sequence diagrams, process flows, and other visual models to communicate complex requirements and system behavior effectively.
You will actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, including discovery sessions, backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. You will support the Product Owner in maintaining backlog readiness and ensuring that planned work meets the team’s Definition of Ready.
You will also analyze API and system-integration requirements and document dependencies across systems such as ERP integrations, PIM, search platforms, and other components of the commerce ecosystem.
Throughout delivery, you will provide functional clarification to development and QA teams, support defect analysis, validate delivered functionality against agreed requirements, and assist with business acceptance activities.
Working within the product direction and priorities established by the Product Owner, you will act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your focus will be on requirements quality, functional clarity, visual documentation, traceability, and effective Scrum delivery.
Requirements:
3–5+ years of professional experience, including 2–3 years in a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar technical delivery role
High proficiency in technical writing, with the ability to produce clear, precise, and development-ready requirements
Experience working within cross-functional Scrum teams and collaborating with Product Owners, engineers, architects, QA specialists, UX specialists, and business stakeholders
Proven ability to translate business requirements into detailed user stories, functional requirements, business rules, process flows, and clear acceptance criteria
Basic working knowledge of Java, JavaScript, or Python and working knowledge of relational databases and SQL, with familiarity with NoSQL databases; previous hands-on development experience is a plus
Ability to understand solutions from a high-level architectural and system-integration perspective; technical or engineering background preferred
Strong ability to create and maintain system diagrams, process flows, sequence diagrams, flowcharts, data flows, and logical models
Ability to analyze ambiguous business needs and create structured requirements from an early or unclear starting point
Experience with e-commerce platforms and understanding of core commerce capabilities, including catalog, pricing, cart, checkout, orders, promotions, and integrations; Automotive-industry experience is preferred
Strong working knowledge of Jira, including story creation, backlog refinement, estimation support, reporting, and workflow management
Understanding of microservices architecture, API-based integrations, API versioning, and release processes, including REST and OpenAPI; GraphQL is a plus
Experience identifying requirement gaps, dependencies, edge cases, data requirements, and non-functional requirements
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile/Scrum delivery processes
Experience supporting functional testing, defect analysis, and business acceptance activities
Strong analytical and organizational skills – maintains clear requirements, documentation, and traceability
Excellent communication skills – facilitates collaboration between technical and non-technical stakeholders
Detail-oriented mindset – identifies gaps, inconsistencies, dependencies, and edge cases before development begins
