SUMMARY:

The Global Sourcing Lead coordinates and facilitates activities related to Motion Industries Asia Pacific Procurement practice. The role will support enterprise-wide sourcing and supplier management initiatives within a Fortune 500 environment. This position will initially focus on strengthening supplier relationships, improving product quality, contract portfolio reviews, supplier renegotiations, enhancing logistic flows, lowering costs, and risk mitigation. The Global Sourcing Lead plays a key role in building relationships with internal stakeholders, strengthening supplier performance, improving contractual compliance, execution of new agreements, cost optimizations and supporting strategic transformation initiatives.

JOB DUTIES

  • Manages sourcing and procurement activities for imported goods across a broad range of Motion product offerings.
  • Conducts RFx events, supplier evaluations, benchmarking analyses, and total cost of ownership assessments.
  • Identifies and implements cost reduction, supplier consolidation, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Develops category strategies aligned with enterprise operational and financial objectives.
  • Coordinates the day-to-day efforts of Motion’s in-country representatives.
  • Oversees 3rd party service providers activities as it relates to supplier onboarding, development, audits and inspections.
  • Leads supplier corrective action process utilizing in-country representatives, 3rd party providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Builds strong supplier relationships while maintaining competitive tension and commercial accountability.
  • Partners with internal business units to understand operational requirements and translate needs into sourcing strategies.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Compliance, Quality and Engineering and other teams as necessary.
  • Drives supplier performance management through KPIs, scorecards, business reviews, and corrective action plans.
  • Supports and coordinates the movement, storage, and inventory control of materials, finished goods, tools, and packaging materials as per the PO in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Analyzes supplier’s supply chain business operations and processes to identify risk and areas for negotiation.
  • Supports Quality, Engineering and Sales organizations in ensuring suppliers are providing products in accordance with Motion’s technical and quality criteria.
  • Analyzes spending data, supplier performance metrics, and market trends to support the company’s decision-making.
  • Supports Motion’s transformation initiatives, process standardization, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintains accurate procurement documentation and sourcing records within procurement systems and contract repositories.
  • Ensures adherence to SOX controls, procurement governance standards, and company policies.
  • Leads comprehensive reviews of existing supplier agreements to identify cost savings, commercial improvement opportunities, risk exposure, and service enhancements.
  • Executes supplier renegotiation strategies focused on pricing optimization, service-level improvements, payment terms, and contractual protections.
  • Drafts, coordinates, and executes new supplier agreements in partnership with Legal, Finance, Risk, and business stakeholders.
  • Ensures supplier contracts align with corporate procurement policies, compliance requirements, and enterprise risk standards.
  • Supports development and standardization of contract templates, negotiation playbooks, and sourcing governance processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Procurement, or related field and five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience or an equivalent combination. Fluency in Mandarin is required. At least five (5) years of expat experience in mainland China and seven (7) or more years of procurement, sourcing, contract management, or strategic purchasing experience within a corporate environment required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated ability in commercial negotiation, strategic sourcing, contract management, supplier relationship management, financial and spend analysis, risk mitigation, stakeholder collaboration and influence, process improvement, executive communication, and project management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing supplier contract reviews, renewals, and renegotiations.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate contract risks
  • Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP/procurement systems.
  • Ability to drive supplier performance improvements
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to deliver solutions that improve stakeholder satisfaction
  • High degree of cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
