Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Employee Engagement & Volunteer Programs will lead the strategy, development and execution of programs that activate GPC employees in meaningful community impact. This role oversees volunteerism (including skills-based service and board placements), employee charitable giving campaigns, matching gifts and Foundation-related employee benefit programs (hardship & relief, scholarship, tuition reimbursement) in partnership with HR.
Aligned with the GPC Foundation’s core functional areas – corporate giving, volunteer engagement, employee charitable giving and Foundation supported employee benefit programs – this role is responsible for building scalable infrastructure, driving participation, tracking impact and enhancing employee pride in being part of Team GPC.
The Senior Manager, Employee Engagement & Volunteer Programs will collaborate closely with HR, Communications and Foundation Operations to ensure programs are strategic, well-structured, measurable and aligned with GPC’s values, culture and giving priorities.
Responsibilities
Volunteer Strategy & Program Development
- Enhance and scale a strategic enterprise-wide volunteer program that complements and aligns with CSR and giving priorities
- Develop and promote skills-based volunteerism opportunities aligned with employee expertise
- Enhance and manage employee board service placement and representation with community organizations, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities
- Design tools and processes for community mapping and strategic employee placement
- Establish participation goals and track outcomes and impact
- Develop scalable frameworks that support long-term growth and impact
Employee Charitable Giving & Matching Gifts
- Lead annual employee charitable giving campaigns
- Implement and oversee a Foundation-supported employee matching gift program
- Manage vendor/platform coordination for giving and matching gift programs
- Track participation rates, funds raised and impact metrics
- Continuously refine campaign strategy to optimize employee engagement and pride
Employee Foundation-Related Benefit Programs (In partnership with HR)
- Provide program oversight for:
- Employee Hardship & Relief
- Scholarship programs
- Tuition reimbursement (as applicable)
- Support application processes, documentation workflows and governance alignment
- Ensure clear program guidelines and transparent communication
- Track utilization, outcomes and impact metrics
Measurement, Reporting & Impact Tracking
- Develop and maintain dashboards to track:
- Volunteer participation
- Skills-based engagement
- Board placements
- Employee giving participation
- Matching gift utilization
- Hardship and scholarship metrics
- Analyze trends and identify opportunities to increase participation
- Prepare executive-ready summaries and reports
- Contribute data and storytelling insights to Foundation reporting and CSR efforts
Communications & Campaign Activation (In partnership with Communications)
- Develop communications plans around volunteer initiatives and giving campaigns
- Create toolkits and messaging for field leaders
- Support internal announcements and storytelling efforts
- Ensure clarity and consistency of messaging across platforms
- Elevate visibility of employee impact while balancing brand humility
Governance & Infrastructure
- Support development of structured processes, guidelines and controls aligned with Foundation standards
- Ensure appropriate documentation and audit-ready recordkeeping
- Collaborate with Foundation Operations to integrate systems and reporting tools
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, scalability and impact tracking
Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of experience in employee engagement, corporate philanthropy, CSR, nonprofit leadership, or related field
- Experience building or scaling volunteer programs and/or employee giving campaigns
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional partnerships (HR, IT, Communications, Finance, Operations)
- Experience tracking participation metrics and reporting impact

- Strong program management and organizational skills
- Ability to design scalable frameworks and structured processes
- Data-informed mindset with comfort using dashboards, reporting tools and volunteer management platforms such as Blackbaud
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Physical Demands / Working Environment
- Primarily performed in a professional, climate-controlled office setting, with occasional field responsibilities.
- Position requires working on-site in the office four (4) days per week. The fifth workday may be performed remotely, subject to business needs and manager approval.
- Prolonged sitting (7–8 hours daily) with frequent computer and 10-key keypad use.
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of light objects up to 25 pounds.
- Continuous close vision required for detailed financial data; adequate hearing for phone and virtual communication.
- Requires sustained concentration, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
