Job Summary

The Director, New Business Development is an integral part of the NAPA Corporate Development team supporting independent owner financing needs and succession planning as well as sourcing strategic acquisitions. The Director will manage a geography in the continental U.S. responsible for developing and maintaining contact with large numbers of independent owners and competitive acquisition targets. This position reports to the Senior Director, New Business Development regularly preparing and delivering updates to various NAPA executive leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Connect regularly with independent owners across the assigned geography, monitoring business and owner conditions
  • Actively maintain the independent owner succession planning tool and the competitive target pipeline
  • Connect with field sales leaders to gain feedback for succession planning reviews and field engagement of acquisition targets and planning
  • Consult with independent owners to identify financial solutions and deploy according to the NAPA strategic plan
  • Actively engage with independent owners to address any performance issues or potential divergences from GPCs Guaranty Support Agreement
  • Develop and execute corrective action plans with our field leadership team and independent owners when compliance is not met
  • Work closely with analysts to develop presentations for acquisitions, financings and succession planning opportunities
  • Attend regional owners’ meetings to gain and provide insight.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of commercial lending experience or similar financing or accounting background involving underwriting, relationship management, business development or loan structuring.
  • Formal credit training or financial statement analysis experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, leadership and interpersonal skills, maintain sound judgment when making decisions and be highly organized.
  • Proven track record to deliver high levels of customer service.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction/supervision.

Physical Demands / Working Environment

  • Work performed in a typical office environment.
  • Ability to travel as needed, up to 50%.
