Job Summary
The Director, Foundation Operations & Impact, is responsible for building and managing the operational infrastructure, compliance framework, digital systems and impact measurement strategy of the GPC Foundation.
This role ensures the Foundation operates as a high-performing, professional organization that is trusted by leadership, respected by the community, accountable to outcomes and aligned with GPC’s values and culture.
The Director will oversee digital platform implementation and administration, grant intake systems, compliance safeguards (including 990 review and EIN verification), financial controls, data analytics and impact reporting. In close partnership with Communications, this role will also support public-facing website content (to include a grant application portal), storytelling, annual reporting and brand visibility efforts.
This position is both strategic and hands-on, serving as the operational backbone of the Foundation. The position reports to the Sr. Director, Corporate Giving & Community Relations.
Responsibilities
Foundation Operations & Digital Platform Management
- Lead implementation, optimization and ongoing administration of the Foundation’s CRM and grant management platform (e.g., Blackbaud or similar system)
- Oversee web-based grant intake systems and public-facing grant portal
- Ensure organized intake processes, electronic recordkeeping and documentation integrity
- Develop and document workflows, controls and user protocols
- Train internal stakeholders on system usage and reporting capabilities
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency
Compliance, Risk Management & Grant Administration
- Oversee grant due diligence processes, including:
- 990 reviews
- EIN verification safeguards
- Ensure appropriate documentation of grant agreements, grant reporting and payment schedules
- Maintain audit-ready grant files and compliance documentation
- Develop and maintain grantmaking policies and operational safeguards
- In collaboration with IT, maintain data compliance standards, including: Ensure data accuracy, transparency and knowledge of user data rights
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) - ensure proper data storage protocols are maintained
- Mitigate cybersecurity risk - implement security reviews, compliance safeguards and data governance protocol
- Support adherence to Foundation bylaws, guidelines and decision-making structures
- Budget Management & Financial Controls
- Develop and manage systems for tracking grant allocations and operating expenditures
- Maintain budget dashboards and variance reporting
- Partner with Finance to ensure accurate reconciliation and reporting
- Establish internal controls to ensure appropriate stewardship of Foundation funds
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Impact Measurement, Data Analytics & Reporting
- Design and implement measurement frameworks aligned with Foundation goals and outcomes
- Develop impact tracking systems across: Corporate giving, Volunteer engagement, Employee charitable giving, Employee hardship & relief programs
- Create dashboards and executive-level reporting tools
- Analyze giving trends, participation data and program effectiveness
- Prepare impact summaries and annual reports of Foundation activities and grantmaking for leadership and Board review
Communications, Reporting & Brand Visibility (in partnership with Comms)
- Coordinate development of public-facing Foundation website content
- Contribute foundation related material as needed to enterprise-level annual reports and CSR report development
- Support impact storytelling and narrative framing
- Provide data and insights to elevate brand visibility and community goodwill
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of public-facing data and messaging of community engagement
Governance, Infrastructure & Research Support
- Support Foundation board materials related to grants, budgets, financials and impact
- Maintain documentation related to policies, controls and grant criteria
- Strengthening infrastructure to support long-term scalability and accountability
- Support Foundation research and assist in nonprofit landscape assessments across priority focus areas to enhance giving strategy
- Continuously improving systems to enhance efficiency, performance and impact
Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of experience in foundation operations, corporate philanthropy, nonprofit management, CSR or related field
- Experience managing grant management systems or CRM platforms (e.g., Blackbaud or similar)
- Demonstrated experience with compliance processes, due diligence, and risk mitigation
- Experience developing impact measurement frameworks and reporting dashboards
- Strong budget management and financial tracking experience
- Experience working cross-functionally with Finance, Communications, IT, HR and Executive Leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong data analytics capabilities
- Proficiency in CRM/database management systems
- Experience developing dashboards and executive-ready reporting
- Knowledge of nonprofit due diligence practices (including IRS Form 990 review and EIN validation)
- Strong documentation and process design skills relating to grantmaking functions
- Excellent written communication skills for reporting and storytelling

Physical Demands / Working Environment
- Primarily performed in a professional, climate-controlled office setting, with occasional field responsibilities.
- Position requires working on-site in the office four (4) days per week. The fifth workday may be performed remotely, subject to business needs and manager approval.
- Prolonged sitting (7–8 hours daily) with frequent computer and 10-key use.
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of light objects up to 25 pounds.
- Continuous close vision required for detailed financial data; adequate hearing for phone and virtual communication.
- Requires sustained concentration, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Minimal travel (less than 5%); occasional extended hours during peak periods (e.g., month-end or year-end close).
