Sidewall I – 1st Shift
Apache, Inc. is a division of Motion Industries.
This position will perform all duties associated with fabricating sidewall belt and other duties as required. This position is for 1st Shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform production/machine operator responsibilities including but not limited to: press operation and belt preparation and installation of sidewall, cleats, vanners, nuts and bolts.
- Follow ISO: 2008 work instructions and procedures to produce belts that meet specification.
- Read and understand production orders and read and interpret engineering drawings and diagrams.
- Perform quality evaluations on belts during production, take action when warranted and notify the production lead of any non-conforming parts or materials.
- Manage material usage to optimize profitability.
- Attend all required quality and safety meetings.
- Record daily production data.
- Attend work regularly and predictably and uphold Company values in all work aspects.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma/equivalency and ablility to perform industrial math and measuring, and to read and understand work orders, instructions and prints.
Skills and Abilities
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and drawings. Willingness to ask questions and communicate openly with superiors and peers. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to read a ruler in standard and metric. Ability to add and subtract fractions and decimals and convert between the two. Ability to apply basic Geometry. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and recognize non-conformances. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrams or schedule form. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to give input on issues in a team atmosphere and support team and management decisions when they are not of your opinion. Forklift experience is beneficial.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The production area is often cold in the winter and hot in the summer months.
Must be able to lift heavy packages frequently up to 35 lbs. and occasionally lift or move up to 70 lbs. Standing or walking most of the day. Bending over and kneeling. Climbing stairs. Pushing and pulling product. Requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently required to walk, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Required to reach with hands and arms and climb or balance and talk or hear.
