Job Description

Production Supervisor

SUMMARY:

The Production Supervisor specializes in value-added fabrication of products, and coordinates and controls production activities to achieve schedules and quality targets.  This role directs and schedules daily activities of five or more production employees.

JOB DUTIES

  • Maintains a safe, organized, respectful, productive work environment that promotes teamwork.
  • Ensures production and customer satisfaction are achieved by the team.
  • Utilizes the ERP, warehouse management, and scheduling systems proficiently.
  • Communicates and executes production schedules.
  • Actively engages in management performance and developing reports by regularly communicating standards and expectations and holding the team accountable.
  • Discuss business unit needs and improves projects with operations management and technical services.
  • Creates and improves department processes by utilizing lean manufacturing tools and methods.
  • Actively develops and motivates employees to create an invested and sustainable workforce.
  • Ensures adherence to appropriate certification program(s).
  • May respond to emergencies as a trainer First Responder.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Typically requires a high school diploma or GED and five (5) to ten (10) years of related experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Strong leadership, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including speaking and listening for understanding.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to motivate and develop others as well as handle conflict while maintaining self-control.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Exposure to heat, moderate noise, moving pieces of equipment, and dust/flying particles. Requires frequent talking, hearing, and presenting. Manual dexterity: Work requires regular speed, accuracy, and adeptness to operate a limited range of equipment. Work requires handling light-weight materials or equipment requiring limited effort.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS: None required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: 2-5 Direct Reports

BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY: No
