Job Description

Motion Canada is currently recruiting for a Journeyman Millwright / Industrial Mechanic with extensive hydraulic and mechanical experience in their service shop in Prince George, BC. Based in the service center, the successful candidate will be primarily involved in the repair and maintenance of hydraulic and mechanical components. This exciting and challenging position will report into the Shop Foreman. The position will also require off-site troubleshooting, repairs, installation & commissioning, and customer support in the field.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 5 years of shop experience in rebuilding hydraulic components (pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, etc.) and mechanical components (gear reducers, process pumps, blowers, fluid couplings, clutches, etc.)
• Journeyman Certification – Red Seal is an asset.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Detail oriented with ability to work independently
• Better than average computer skills including: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• A complete basic set of hand tools required
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
• Team player coupled with solid troubleshooting skills
• Ability to assess and estimate times for rebuild work
• Must be in great physical condition
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Forklift license preferred
• Overhead crane ticket is an asset.
• Basic manual machining skills are an asset
• Basic welding skills are an asset
