Job Description

Motion Industries is looking for a Product Owner who is responsible for defining the product vision, innovation, and managing the product development process. Product Owner serves as the voice of the customers and stakeholders, owns a product roadmap and a product backlog. Product Owner responsibilities include gathering feature requests, schedule releases, and coordinate sprints.

The person in this role should be able to identify the User's, Stakeholder's, and Development needs and work with cross-functional teams. Product Owner should have the ability to plan and manage the development project from start to finish and ensure that the products meet the customer's needs.


  • Own, develop and execute product roadmap
  • Responsible for business outcomes
  • Strategize and present ideas to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Business Owners, product scrum team, and stakeholders to establish timeline, workflows and goals
  • Turn data insights into products with actionable outcomes
  • Keep stakeholders up to date on product process and progress
  • Analyze preferences and requests of end users and define product features according to customer needs
  • Identify areas of improvement
  • Reviews and prioritizes backlog for Sprint Planning, including coordination of dependencies
  • Lead transition of various existing products from to a new platform
  • Accountable and responsible for user story quality and performance in production environment
  • Responsible for innovation
  • Work closely with users to understand customer experience, especially at a tactical and transaction level
  • Analyze impact of proposed solution across the business, develop use cases to explain/demonstrate business requirements/specifications to IT team, and contribute a business or process perspective during design review
  • Provide operational support to various stakeholders
  • Partner with Cross-Functional teams to plan and execute User Acceptance Testing
  • Recognize opportunities to conduct and participate in design sessions to gain insights into end user and customer need
  • Lead the product functional design process based on knowledge of the users and technology
  • Assist the scrum/product development team to meet the objectives of each sprint
  • Self-starter with the ability to act autonomously
  • Keep track and inform business leaders of industry trends
  • Work closely with development team to proactively respond to investigate, analyze, validate and resolve issues
  • Recognizes technical challenges and makes educated trade-offs with the team
  • Keep focused on long-term, strategic goals while executing against short-term objectives
  • Strive to develop and drive initiatives that align with key corporate values


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related experience
  • 5+ years' experience in a product owner, software project management or business analysis role
  • Proven track record of delivering data driven solutions with a customer-first mindset
  • Hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle
  • Proven ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with Leadership, technical and non-technical audiences while employing a high degree of collaboration and influence
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of the product lifecycle
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to identify/analyze/synthesize product use data and use the data to drive decisions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of business processes, system development, and process improvements
  • Proficient in gathering business requirements, process flows, and use cases
  • Experience with modeling and mapping as-is and to-be business processes
  • Strong relationship building and maintaining skills. 
  • Fosters a climate conducive to establishing positive working relationships with stakeholders
