Job Description

Responsibilities:  The following section contains the primary responsibilities for this position.  Job holder is responsible for performing any other duties as assigned by management. 

  • Lead market pricing activities for assigned area of responsibility using Market Pay, develops recommendations for new hires and promotions to ensure internal equity and external market competitiveness, and communicates recommendations with the HR Partners.
  • Responsible for maintenance and administration of GPC’s Career Framework job architecture, partnering with HR Business Partners
  • Lead on going pay equity audits across GPC and U.S. business units. Partner with Compensation leads in each business unit and outside consultants on the process.
  • Responsible for leading the annual salary planning process in Workday to include preparation of the data and system, communication, analysis, and budget impact of consolidated recommendations; partner with HRIS on testing and configuration changes.
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of automated solutions around compensation processes
  • Provide support for the administration of GPCs Corporate Salary Structure. Assist with modeling and cost analysis related to base salaries. Analyzes competitiveness of pay ranges/rates to market data and local conditions.  Provides expertise in salary structure maintenance and application at GPC.
  • Research questions, interprets policies, and assists with review of compensation issues.
  • Apply knowledge of compensation policies and best practices to recommend solutions.
  • Assist with various compensation projects in conjunction with outside consultants.
  • Participate in the design of training and job aides to educate Human Resources Business Partners, people managers and employees on new compensation policies and procedures.
  • Support salary survey administration for GPC Corporate and US Business Units. Manages the relationships with third party vendor and develops recommendations on salary survey participation and purchases

Experience, Education, and Abilities:

  • 5 years’ experience in broad based Compensation, with 2+ years as a Sr. Compensation Analyst
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience, required.
  • Prior experience with Workday preferred
  • Previous experience with online market pricing tool preferred
  • Knowledge of state and federal employee compensation laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Expert excel skills required and must be proficient with other MS Office Products: Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Direct experience with analyzing large, complex data sets and interacting with relational databases. Ability to develop recommendations to management levels.
  • Excellent HRIS skills, particularly with queries
  • Ability to deal with multiple issues simultaneously with a sense of urgency and to work effectively in ambiguous situations while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction/supervision.
  • Must maintain confidentiality, discretion, and integrity
  • Work performed in a typical office environment and no travel is anticipated
