The Machine Operator/Packager/Utility Worker, under moderate supervision, operates machines requiring minor adjustments to prepare Company products and packages products as necessary.
Operates and makes minor adjustments to machines preparing Company products.
Cleans, adjusts, and performs preventative maintenance on assigned machines.
Feeds materials and removes finished products for machine.
Maintains production and time records, as required.
Maintains high quality standards through regular quality assurance checks.
Collects and packs products in preparation for shipment.
Maintains work area in accordance with established housekeeping procedures and requirements to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
With forklift, stage raw materials for use on production lines.
Palletize, wrap, and send finished goods into warehouse.3
Performs other duties, as required
Knowledge: High school diploma or GED. Basic knowledge of arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Experience: Three months working in a plant production environment. Experience in operating machinery a plus. Forklift certification mandatory. Skills / Aptitudes: Manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude. Ability to work as part of team to load 500-pound paper rolls into machines. Effectively Follow Instructions Flexibility Initiative Multitasking Productivity Reliable Teamwork Work Environment/Safety Working Conditions: Plant environment. Standing for lengthy periods. Moderate level of noise and paper dust. Use of forklift approximately 30% of job. Bending, reaching, lifting, or transporting up to 50 pounds of product with or without the use of assisting equipment. Occasional overtime may be required.
